All morning spent dealing with UTF-8 moving from filesystem to #Perl to #PostgreSQL . Not how I wanted to spend my Saturday morning, but finally nailed down a nasty bug with `\x{f8}` being double-encoded instead of rendered as `ø`.

It's not even noon and already I need a glass of wine.
