I'll fish up page references in KMP's draft of the standard and gls' Common Lisp The Language on re/defining reader macro characters for fancy builtin READing.

Base #lisp seems to be like assembly language if you operate on strings (see split-sequence …) 😀🙈#twohourslispperday

#lisp is really different language: setq, let, open read-line, close … and only one line from file was read :-). But where is the parsing (string op), comparing (string op), extracting (string op) … long way before me :-)
