I mentioned previously that the TT2000 didn't quite go to plan. As this was my tenth I decided to do post about it.

Well this is what a Spyder looks like after a couple of hundred kms of dirt tracks including nine, surprising deep, fords. Not to mention the other 2,992km done over the weekend.
Any #nz #motorbike #motorcycle riders out there.
Registrations for the #TT2000 close at the end of this month so if you want to do the best motorcycle event in the world this year then register now if you haven't already:
Finally got around to planning my TT2000 route for this year. Will be clocking up a total of 2,870km's and 51 checkpoints over the weekend to ensure I get the max number of points allowed. That includes around 400km of gravel high country roads which are always 'fun' on the Spyder.
The event not until weekend of 24th Feb but no doubt I'll manage a couple of practice runs before then:-)
Photo taken while checking out one of the TT2000 adventure bike checkpoints to make sure I can actually reach it on my Spyder in prep for the rally in Feb.
Pleased to report it was possible as otherwise I'd still be stuck there, though it's just as well I'd packed a camping shovel at the last minute as got stuck exiting of one of the fords - there were 7 in total.
Well only 7 days to go until the TT2000, or as its better know, the greatest motorcycle event in the world.
Routes planned, bikes prep'd, I've checked out as many of the checkpoint as I can and now I just need to be patent...not a strong point.

For riders that have never heard of the TT2000 (shame on you) here's a blog post I did a few years back:
Well after a lot of map reading, head scratching and changes over this weekend, that's this year's https://TT2000.org route planned.
Should be 2,686km within the 48hrs limit and 3,538km in total including the ride to/from the start and finish. Riding through some of the best countryside in NZ...and the best motorbike roads in the world (except SH1 Ashburton to Christchurch - yuck).
Now the fun bit, a practice run next weekend.
