Claire Danes e Ewan McGregor vão protagonizar o novo suspense dramático da Hulu, “The Spot”

A Hulu oficializou a escalação de Claire Danes e Ewan McGregor como protagonistas de “The Spot”, nova série dramática de suspense criada por Ed Solomon e produzida pelo aclamado estúdio A24, em coprodução com a 20th Television.

A chegada de Danes ao elenco acontece após a saída de Kate Winslet do projeto em junho, supostamente por divergências criativas. Winslet, que recentemente estrelou as séries “The Regime” e “Mare of Easttown”, também atuaria como produtora executiva por meio de sua empresa, a Juggle Productions.

Segundo a sinopse oficial, The Spot acompanha “uma cirurgiã bem-sucedida e seu marido, um professor, que começam a suspeitar que ela possa ser responsável pela morte de uma criança em um atropelamento com fuga”. À medida que a investigação se aprofunda, o casal é envolvido em uma teia de desconfiança, segredos e traições que ameaça destruir seu casamento.

Ed Solomon, conhecido por seu trabalho em Full Circle da HBO Max, atua como roteirista, produtor executivo e showrunner da série. Ariel Kleiman (Partisan) dirigirá os episódios e também assina a produção executiva ao lado de Robin Sweet.

Este é o segundo projeto televisivo de Solomon após sua colaboração com Steven Soderbergh na minissérie Full Circle e no longa The Christophers, adquirido recentemente pela Neon após sua estreia no Festival Internacional de Toronto.

O elenco marca a primeira colaboração entre Danes e McGregor, que quase trabalharam juntos há mais de duas décadas no projeto inacabado Flora Plum, de Jodie Foster.

Vencedora de dois Emmys e quatro Globos de Ouro, Claire Danes é conhecida por sua performance em Homeland e pela minissérie Fleishman Is in Trouble. Ela poderá ser vista em breve na minissérie da Netflix The Beast Inside Me, ao lado de Matthew Rhys.

Já Ewan McGregor, vencedor do Emmy por Halston, estrelou recentemente Um Cavalheiro em Moscou (Paramount+) e retornará ao cinema com o sci-fi Flowervale Street, da Warner Bros., ao lado de Anne Hathaway.

A produção de The Spot está prevista para começar em 2026. Embora ainda sem data oficial de estreia, a série deve chegar ao Brasil pelo Disney+, serviço que abriga as produções originais da Hulu no país.
