🌡️ EnerNet workshop: How is “comfort” created?
At Hof University, about 20 experts from the HVAC sector explored how to define and measure thermal comfort — combining theory and practice.

The event was hosted by the iwe institute as part of the EnerNet network on energy, cooling & local heating. 🤝

4/7 …the limitation of the 5 senses, the limitations of experiencing something non-simultaneously (i.e. cubism...or outside of time, perhaps), not being within an object, etc. However, might it be for architecture’s ambition, to pull those things that have withdrawn closer? Things that are increasingly withdrawn because they’ve become perfunctory or mundane. Perhaps neutered with the advent of controlled environments. #thermalcomfort

“Understanding MRT [mean radiant temperature] changes the way you think about buildings. It's critically important, but almost nobody understands it. Sometimes I think nobody wants to understand it because it would mean codes would have to change, the way buildings are designed would have to change, and the way mechanical engineers and contractors work would have to change.”

How Can We Achieve Thermal Delight In Our Homes?

You can't get comfort from a thermostat; it's more complicated than that.

Great share.

Its not really fair to say #KevinRudd blew #climateChange. Yes someone died installing #insulation during the #pinkBatsScheme, but that initiative was a raging success for the climate, our #thermalComfort and #energyEfficiency.

Beyond the #forcedNews narrative, it reduced #consumption by a whopping 30%!!!

We say #KRudd was the last true #Australian PM (his #JulianAssange policy inlcuded).

He was a real leader.
