I started playing #TheOuterWilds this week and I’m just scratching the surface. I’m still very much in that what the hell am I supposed to be doing phase of the game, but I’m getting some of the mechanics down at least. Only two loops in so far but it’s a different type of game for sure.

#videogames started january with #theouterwilds which i know i’m late to the party on, and surprise! it was great. crazy puzzles, lots of exploration, a couple of genuine jumpscares.

the benefit to playing it late was that i got the experience of playing the dlc, echoes of the eye, immediately after the main game and THAT was incredible. easily matched the main game in terms of length and complexity despite being a “dlc”. also it made me really sad

Damn, more money I'm obligated to spend, 'cause Outer Wilds is the greatest game ever made.

This art book actually looks insane, and the deluxe version includes the poster set I've wanted from the official store forever, but they've always been sold out (I'm jelly of Scott manley because he has them in the background of all his videos).

Just started playing #OuterWilds (edit: not #TheOuterWilds) when it was released on #NintendoSwitch a couple of days ago. I’m a couple of hours in and completely hooked.

An utterly fascinating game and very different to anything else I’ve played in a long while. The closest thing I’ve played to this is an old #Amiga game called Damocles, which also blew me away when I first played it.

The Outer Wilds is the best game because all the characters are either excitable nerds who can't resist a pun or stones explorers looking for a nice place to put up a hammock and jam on their harmonica. Not one malicious soul in the whole game (so far???)
