The Darling Buds - Erotica

It's hard to mistake some of the influences swirling through the air in the late 80s/early 90s, when The Darling Buds were doing their thing...and it's regrettable that they couldn't catch a break...even when one of their songs got on a soundtrack, it was on So I Married an Axe Murderer.

But despite that, this is a great album of guitar pop with some MBV elements mixed in, finally re-released by Music on Vinyl.

I’m very thankful to still have my OG press of this, as it appears that they are QUITE pricey now, and there are a lot of people who are looking for it.

This is a wonderful shoegazey power pop album, highlighted by the excellent “Sure Thing”, as well as “Long Day In The Universe”, which appeared in the #90s Mike Myers movie So I Married An Axe Murderer.
A front to back stellar record.

The third and final album from the Darling Buds, Erotica was a little more gauzy and shoegazey than their previous efforts, which is probably why it’s my favorite one.

The album is anchored by two really GREAT songs; “Sure Thing” and “Long Day In The Universe”, which was featured in the Mike Myers film So I Married An Axe Murderer.
Really underrated #90s album.
