Igh! Got surprised by a hungry node and fell to death after bouncing like crazy. Geared up (food, armor, sleeping bag, obsidian, thaumometer, and sword) and took the long trek back to the danger zone for revenge and my grave. Definitely for revenge.
Found the hungry node, placed obsidian to keep me from getting sucked in, and then crawled slowly towards the node by placing obsidian in strategic spots. And when I got close enough...
