The puddle jumper cardigan is finished 😍
Gotta go block it now and find some cute buttons to match...

Started my first ever test knit and it's so fun. A friend of mine will have her baby in July, so no better time than to knit baby clothing. This is the Puddle Jumper Cardigan by Jackie Henderson and it's such a joy to knit 🧶

When is modifying a #pattern helpful?

When isn’t it? 🤔

Seriously, with the exception of #testknitting I don’t recall the last time I followed a #knitting or #crochet pattern to a T. At the very least, I change the colors or the #Yarn or the needle/hook size.

Perhaps more importantly, I make mistakes. I’ve been known to start & frog projects multiple times before I find the rhythm of a pattern. Once I have it, things roll merrily along…until they don’t (which usually occurs when I’ve lost count or miscounted) At that point, I have a choice: to frog or to figure out how to fix it. Usually, I choose to “fix” it by adapting the next row/round to fit the pattern (or adjust my row counter to a row that fits what’s on my needles) & just keep going. Sometimes that even works & no one notices the mistake but me. I won’t lie though, I’ve also left a pile of unfinished projects with errors I can’t hide in my wake & whose yarn I hope to reuse.

Finished my travel-project.
Almost finished with a large cardigan as well... so will dive into my pile of WIPs to see what can be finished next... feels really nice to finish something for a change!

Although I'll need to think of what to cast on as my next small-travel-project, obviously.
Maybe a similar scarf, but then bigger to fit me (and not my kids)

I calculated I need around 15 hours to knit the sleeves for this cardigan.
I'm now half-way, but I'm #knitting them both at the same time, and the sleeves are egtting smaller (decreasing 2 sts per sleeve every four rounds) so I'm almost done, right?

No.... still a lot of hours ahead, but I'm trying to convince myself :)

At least the wool is extremely nice and soft, and the colour is amazing (rust-brown) and I will just get it done!
