Set aside an hour or so to freak the fuck out, then take a break and get on with the rest of your life while others take their turn.

☝️ok ok, hear me out...
Remember when the pandemic first started and everybody went outside at 7pm to make noise and cheer on frontline workers?
What if, at 7pm, we all went out on our balconies and porches and front steps and just fekkin screamed for five minutes.
I think it could really bring the community together.
I think people underestimate the medicinal value of hope.
There's a whole lotta "hoo! not this!" going on in the world, and it matters if you can also say: "but, maybe ..this?"
Something to rest your mind on while you get through everything else. And baby step your way towards whenever you find an opening.
I have recently learned, in difficult times there are basically two kinds of people:
1) those who lash out
2) those who reach out
I am super keen on one of those groups, and super keen on avoiding the other.

I wonder if we could organize some sort of rota for existential dread. Like I can worry about *waves hand at everything* for an hour, and then take a break and let someone else do the worrying for a while. #teamApocalypse
This toot has a whole bunch of ideas for meatspace connecting that are so good I wanna pass on to @lonelinesscorps
Isolation is hurting us all, community, online or local, is how we fight back.

Feel free to reply with your own ideas or projects. Everybody's struggling, and it's hard to innovate when yer lonely and tired.

@[email protected] spaghetti on all the walls!😁 Love that approach. Way will open, as the Friends say. If below TL/DR~boop🌳🍄🌼 I am nowhere near there nor have any tech skills; I wonder tho if there is a college or university there where you might post a flyer or several? Library, food coop, any place with a bulletin board? Could be a great opportunity for a student. For meatspace social connection, is there a yarn store or group that hosts any kind of fiber arts group weekly or monthly? Lots do where I have lived. Libraries often offer interest group activities, meetings, etc that might be a chance to connect. Or you could ask for space and time to start one, perhaps with Librarian Goddess assistance? Even a long covid support group. Nature center free activities like walks, plant ID, other. Several here in Maine host all kinds of social activities. Is this too much info all at once?
I don't know if this is helpful for others, but when I am having a meltdown, overwhelmed with everything and unable to cope, I have a big cry and internally pat myself on the head and say:
I know, meatsack. This shit is really really hard.
It helps me not take this personally, and separate who I am from what I am experiencing.
This shit IS really really hard. And all you beautiful humans steering your meatsacks through this mess have my love. 🤎✨
☝️ it's been a rough week. I'm going out to the forest this morning to have a big cry, let a bunch of stuff go.
So I'll be taking a shift on the existential dread, ya'll can take a break, enjoy your weekend, and worry next time.
Pace yerselves, folks! Getting through this is a marathon not a sprint.
