Today I gave an invited talk on #tdslab's "CatGPT! Welzijn.AI for Mental Health and Wellbeing in Older People" at the ZonMW Symposium "AI & me: Aligning Values in mental health. AI chatbots for people with severe mental illness" in the very nice venue Zalen van Zeven in Utrecht.

As an early Christmas present, the UMCNL workgroup Data in the Region (led by UMCG) has been awarded a 1.4M EUR Open Science Infrastructure grant on Improving availability, access, and usage of socio-medical data through unified governance - for researchers, health professionals, policymakers, and citizens.

#tdslab leads WP3 on designing the unified governance framework for socio-medical data sharing across regional hubs and data competence centers (DCCs).

#tdslab's Ian Shen defended his dissertation "Healthcare Information System Engineering: AI Technologies and Open Source Approaches" very successfully! Ian focused on the development of Healthcare Information Systems (HIS) using Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques that address a number of issues in healthcare. Furthermore, Ian conducted investigations on how to improve HIS engineering with Open Source methodology. #LeidenUniversity

Tallinn, Estonia, 8-9 October - The UNCAN-Connect project officially launched! Funded by the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation programme, the €30 million project brings together 53 partner organizations from 19 countries to co-develop UNCAN.eu, a decentralized collaborative platform enabling secure, ethical, and interoperable access to cancer data. We target six cancer types - paediatric, lymphoid, pancreatic, ovarian, lung, and prostate cancer.
