Swedeβs PhotographsSparrow in a Tree
I need some help with this sparrow. So many of these little birds look much alike. I'm guessing that this is a swamp sparrow (Melospiza georgiana) which is what I'll call it unless I find out differently. Merlin identified it as a golden-crowned sparrow which is very unlikely because their range is the west coast. I took this photo, 20 September 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana on the bank of the Red River. What do you think?
