In the #YubaCityB52Crash, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1961, the US narrowly avoided nuking itself again. A USAF #B52Stratofortress carrying two nuclear weapons came down hard in #SutterCounty, ripping both of its weapons free of the wreck. Fortunately, their safety mechanisms worked.

On my way from Oroville to Sacramento to catch a flight, I circumnavigated by road the Sutter Buttes. Just one of the little scenes I found. It reminded me of an Andrew Wyeth painting.
