Why have I got two separate "unused credit" emails at different addresses from #CultureHustle USA? I only every ordered from the UK site about 5 years ago. Now I supposedly have $19.43 unused credit?
Looking into it, it seems Culture Hustle has become quite dodgy. I've got to hand it to #StuartSemple though. His dramatic feud with Anish Kapoor was marketing gold. I fell for it.
His story was that Kapoor was a big meanie who bought exclusive rights to Vantablack so no other artists could use it. The truth is that it's not even an art material, it's for applications, like telescope tubes, where you don't want reflected light interference, and is subject to export restrictions in the UK. It's hazardous and also can cause things to overheat. Surrey Nanosystems, the maker, licensed it to Kapoor for marketing. It's not an artists' paint!
So Semple apparently manufactured this narrative that Kapoor is a big selfish meanie who won't let anyone else use this special paint and it worked in that he got a lot of people talking about him and his substitute blackest black paints.
I found out about it via Tom Scott's video about it featuring the Pinkest Pink. He made out like it's some amazing thing you've never seen before and you really need to see it in person to appreciate it.
I bought the LIT Paint after seeing in an the Action Lab channel. I am impressed by how well it glows. But I've just seen reviews saying it's actually kinda crap, because there are other glow pigments that glow just as strongly, but don't need the 4-5 coats that LIT does to get a uniform glow.

I did buy a jar of the Pinkest Pink when I bought more LIT, and it's just regular fluorescent pink. There's nothing special about it. I've seen way more retina burning fluorescents than that. It's just a big grift.
Couple that with Semple cyberbullying a critic, reports of him treating staff badly, launching some dodgy kickstarters and NFTs and the plethora of 1 star reviews on Trustpilot (orders not arriving and some people getting his sob stories to try to stop them claiming a refund), I definitely will not be going back to them when I need to top up my #glow pigments.
This was recommended as a better alternative:

And unlike Semple, who couldn't even tell me if you can mix LIT with fabric medium (you can, and you'd think he'd know that), it says right there you can use it with any water based medium and it's right there in the link!
You can keep your $19.43 unused credit, ya grifter.
