fediverse question: Can an ActivitiPub instance bundle in a STMP server with E2EE and use it as private DMs. Email interfaces can be modern, it's chats with muscle. email protocol as is always made the analogy to explain the fediverse, is the second most wide standard after the web.
Shouldn't be it the protocol for private comunications between groups in the Fediverse?

What are your favorite #TUI apps?

I'm trying to move all of my persistent browser tabs into the terminal install. Very happy with #aerc and #newsboat for email/RSS. Just added #stmp for music streaming from Navidrome.

#rant #it it is amazing to me how badly mail servers are configured by corporations or by organizations. I turned on 'use TLS' to at least encrypt everything between my smtp server and anyone else. It is amazing the number of big name companies who won't use TLS on their smtp servers.

The biggest being bellsouth.net. If I enforce TLS I can't send email to anyone using bellsouth.net emails because it refuses TLS connections from an #stmp server.
