The speed alone means there is practically no time to react and perform evasive measures, and the projectile itself is, according to the manufacturer, “almost totally resistant to countermeasures.”

1988 Star Streak I and II motorhomes, both built by an Air Force officer Paul Jones for him and his wife. First one built with a GM chassis and a 1971 Olds Toronado 455 engine, the second one built with a 1976 Cadillac chassis and a 1976 toronado engine. Correct me if there's mistakes.
