My P1S 3D printer is running in LAN-only, developer mode in order to bypass Bambulab's cloud.

I use Home Assistant to control/monitor prints, with spaghetti detection module:

I bought a printer from BambuLab because the hardware looked good and I had an urgent need. There's no way I could finish my Voron build in time to take care of a big order.

I did so with huge reservations about their relationship to the open source history of 3D printing, including the lack of integration with #octoprint and #spoolman, and now my fears are being realized.

If they don't reverse course soon, I'm going to budget for a Prusa and there's going to be a used printer up for sale as soon as I can replace it.

Walled gardens are not my thing.
