Reddit breaks the law to quell protests - spez has gone too far

Reddit CEO calls unpaid moderators' concerns "noise" - time to send a message he won't forget.

A word on reddit, blackouts, & effective protesting

I feel pity about this guy (peak Reddit-mod stereotype).
Basically, he has to moderate a subreddit full of people who give one shit but not two, no help whatsoever. He falls for a scam and gets booted. Angry, he asks Spez to stand out.
I would have taken the message seriously, but he is too high on his horse.
That's or is the best skit ever.

Reddit's Mod Makeover: Toilet Seat Chic
#touhou #subreddit / #reddit is considering a full ban of #AI generated images from the forum :seija_coffee: Currently there's a clear majority of users wanting a full ban. There are at least 3 and a half days left before the #poll closes. https://old.reddit.com/r/touhou/comments/xzf2v3/meta_referendum_should_we_ban_ai_art_from_rtouhou/ #AIArt #AIArtDiscussion #2hu (📎1)
Well, I ran into my first major problem with the #lemmy architecture, and a fascinating, _respectful_ discussion has arisen as a result.
It's almost like the mods of the different instances are human beings trying to do the best they can, and not multi-millionaires whose response is "fuck you, make me more goddamned money." (#spez and #zuckerberg come to mind pretty quickly.)
The problem is a big one, but the discussion is heartening. Without the profit-pressure, lemmy may be the future.
