Ratbones – Spaghettification - Ratbones - Spaghettification

A star has been destroyed by a wandering supermassive black hole

Second supermassive black hole is a long way from the galaxy’s core.

We could be past the tipping point already.

Tipping points (like supermassive black hole event horizons) can leave one feeling comfortable for a short period after having been passed.

Then…

#spaghettification

Did you know about #cloc `--by-line`? I just learned about it yesterday, and it kicks ass

I'm explicitly aiming to implement the most features in the fewest #LoC while simultaneously avoiding the code undergoing #spaghettification

The release build is 100x faster than the dev build (at least as PipeWire is concerned): 5msec vs 50usec to generate a chunk of 1024 audio samples (huge buffer I know)

That didn't stop me from optimizing the rendering today. Or fixing bugs, or making new ones

At the #eventhorizon between night and day, #snoozing is a synonym for #spaghettification
@rpardee @Nonilex @Reuters is that something along the lines of #spaghettification?
Explaining why a #blackhole produces light when ripping apart a #star
Every now and again, a star wanders too close to a blachole and experiences what's called a tidal disruption event. The black hole's gravity rips the star to shreds, which results in #spaghettification of the star, resulting in a huge burst of radiation. We've observed this happening several times now. Researchers are now able to simulate with some confidence what goes on when the star is ripped apart.
