Why is it OK to post about the reflecting pool algae when there are far worse problems in the world?

1. Because it's become a symbolic rallying point for focusing attention on Trump's fecklessness; it's about more than an algae bloom.

2. Because it's OK for people to post about whatever they're going to post about, and there's simply nothing you can do to stop it. You'll just look like a humorless scold if you try.

Out of tune banjo klaxon?!?

The walking-around-the-convent-music sounds like a ripoff of the score to Vertigo.

I wonder what Christopher Lee is up to. I hope this movie has more Christopher Lee than Death Line did.

I always mix up Charles Band and Charles Dance.

The ancient builders of Stonehenge placed the giant stones with such precision that each year on the summer solstice, you can see pictures of them all over social media.

This is like one of those “find everything wrong with this picture” puzzles, it’s almost kind of amazing.

Some people will say this REI ad was AI generated. I choose to believe that they have finally embraced the power of “reach around bars,” and acknowledged the bourgeois redundancy of having two pedals.

Last night I saw The Church (band) perform at the Long Center and it was pretty great.

I’ve been listening to their music since “Under the Milky Way” and “Metropolis” were on the radio in the early 90s. I was too young to see them in their Heyday* but have made up for it in the last 10-15 years.

It was a 2.5 hour show (w/intermission), featuring the band’s singles. Their discography is huge, so there were several songs that were new to me (esp. non-album tracks).
