Looking at #SMBE23 content here and "there" and seeing how funny it is that our discipline have mixed views between "what gets measured gets done" and "this one metric does not do justice"

I hope people really integrating the nuances in every view as we move the field forward.

Eduard Ocaña-Pallarès: Reconstruction of the fungal tree of life. HUGE: fungi have terrestrialized >1.2 BYA!!!
Solving the fungal tree of life prove to be extremely difficult and is a question that scientists have been sealing with for a very long time. Eduard and team used very intricate methods (too long to explain here), using pectin enzymes as a root for the fungal tree, thus making huge leaps in understand in the phylogeny of fungi.
