🪔 For #MosaicMonday: a 4th c AD roman mosaic depicting a woman holding a grey #sistrum. The sistrum was a sacred instrument in ancient Egypt. Isis was depicted with a bucket in one hand, symbolizing the flooding of the Nile, and a sistrum in the other. Originally found in Carthage, this mosaic fragment is now in the BM. 📸 me
