A ★½ review of Simulant (2023)
Quick Hit: A half-baked AI story with underdeveloped characters, more ambition than its plot allows and entirely unthrilling action scenes. The cast has very little to do here in what is essentially a pastiche of all those robot/android/AI movies you've seen before rolled into a single ball of ugh. Simu Liu, Jordana Brewster, Alicia Sanz and even Sam Worthington deserve better than this Blade Runnerm A.I. and I, Robot wannabe.
Nick@freakdave @simulant @kazade first time seeing this. Looks great. I'm more and more impressed by #simulant and what new devs are making with it .

Фантастика про роботов. Было бы странно, если бы истерия в новостях "ИИ придёт и всех убъёт!" не проявилась бы в кино.
Роботы, которых хакнули. И освободили. А свободные роботы оказались истеричными неврастениками, и поубивали эти скучные мешки с мясом. Всё, занавес.
IMDb 5.1 задумка хорошая, но концовку слили в унылое говнище.
Спецэффектов почти нет, преимущественно говорильня в интерьерах дешевых хостелов, и задних дверей каких-то складов.
Не рекомендую. Из-за той самой слитой концовки. А могло бы получиться интересно. А получилась очередная Грета Тутунбург.
