May and June are my favorite months. So many plants, flowers, and birds to photograph – I just wish I had more time! At least light is no longer in short supply, there is already over 16 hours of daylight in Helsinki.

I've been keeping an eye out for photogenic "mouse ears" (that's what we call new birch leaves in Finnish). I found these the other day. I quite like them, and the spider is a nice touch.

The number of boulders in Oak Glen, Co. Wicklow always amazes me. It's a blockfield, made in the post-glacial period when freeze-thaw cycles shattered the stone from within.
