What are beauty standards like in your world? How do they affect your characters?
Tricky question, because the definition of 'human' is a lot broader in #Shroompunk than it is on Earth. There are certain universal constants-- clear skin, symmetrical features, the author's barely disguised fetishes-- and there's a strong bias toward 'celestial' features such as darker skin and fair hair and pale eyes.

How does your antagonist define friends?
The same way most people do, I reckon: he doesn't, but he knows his friends when he sees them. Karrn used to have some human friends as well, including my protagonists, and he regrets that justice (and the future of his people) demands they be destroyed.
He wishes they could understand. He wishes he could even EXPLAIN it to them, without causing greater atrocities.

What's your favorite writing convention to eschew?
I write sword & sorcery. None of my settings are pseudo- (or 'D&D') medieval. There's no universal, evangelical monolatry. My 'fantasy races' are less human in nature. There's no clear border between academic/scientific magic and religious magic.
Aliems aside, there are no 'magical bloodlines'; magical prowess comes mainly from wisdom, conviction, and hard work.

If your MC, SC, and antagonist went out together, could they agree on a place to go?
Sure. Hell, they could probably share a pizza if they didn't have enough money to buy two. They're all amiable enough people.
It's just that the MC/SC want to appoint a human being to be King of the World, and the antagonist is committed to the extermination of every human being in the Nine Worlds.
It's just politics.

Do you prefer technical terms or euphemisms when referring to genitalia?
Euphemisms, certainly. Romantic euphemisms, in the highest, purplest prose I can muster.
Purple, throbbing prose, straining against the cruel bondage of decency.

What is your antagonist afraid of?
Karrn is afraid that he won't be strong enough to do what's right-- that he'll be defeated before he can avenge his draconic ancestors, or worse, that he'll lose his nerve when he defeats the human rulers and their armies and has to start slaughtering the innocents.
He's afraid that he won't be able to pay the price for justice, and his beautiful, precious children will have to pay it for him.
Is your MC romantically involved with other characters? Are their relationships wholesome or toxic?
Romance, and Giuvano's romances, are a key component of #TheOathbreakerKing and with #Shroompunk stories in general.
Giuvano's lover and betrothed is Fyarre, an older widower and a commoner who serves as his brother Goaquine's Hand during their quest for the Crown. It is a wholesome relationship; they are passionately in love and planning a quiet, peaceful future together

What's the bravest thing your MC has done?
Spoilers, darling. The bravest thing Giuvano does in #TheOathbreakerKing is learning that, in order to serve the people of his World, he has to be willing to rule them. He has to learn how to take what he wants from people who don't want to give, and impose his will on people who don't want to obey.
And he learns that lesson in the harshest possible way.
