3. IIRC the penny has been on the chopping block since at least 2000 or so, but lobbyists from some mining companies (and maybe AZ?) have kept it going, despite the cost. All that metal doesn't come from nowhere. Trump will piss off at least one mining company with this. We might not hear about it, but someone is going to be lighting up the phones.
