First Blush – yaskhan

Dappled grey Night sky’s fading hues Jasper flares Warblers spin Blooms quaver the morning trail Life drifts..warm and still My dawn song Begins at first blush When dew melts on gauze wings Golden warmth of dayspring fills To liven my frame. #shadorma  Source: First Blush – yaskhan

There's a mouth
that will devour you.
It's somewhere
around here.
It gawps, like a patient dog,
anytime you're near.

Ancient homeland, or: Each hoary stone

A Garland Shadorma

it's the flag,I know. that's okay. I preferto remain true to my identitydespite the haters.I know them.they'd prefer that Isurrendermy people'sclaim to our ancient homelandto assuage their guilt.our roots herepredate all others...reject itif you will, but the truth speaks for itselfthrough each hoary stone.some fancyus colonizers, wish we'd leave...'see?' they'd gloat,'their connection to this landwas not authentic.'our prayersfor home never ceased.so, no. no-I won't beanother Jew who forsakeshis forebears' story.our foes haveconvinced themselves thatwe can bescared away, but we've had just One Land inJewish history.it's the flag-they'd prefer that Ireject it;'see?' they'd gloat,'another Jew who forsakesJewish history.'

‘Garland’ Shadorma?

The ‘Garland’ Shadorma was created by Sylvia Cognac, modeled after the ‘Garland’ Cinquain. Essentially, it is a Shadorma series of seven stanzas, with the seventh and final stanza being composed of lines from all six previous stanzas.

Let’s write poetry together!

When it comes to partnership, some humans can make their lives alone – it’s possible. But creatively, it’s more like painting: you can’t just use the same colours in every painting. It’s just not an option. You can’t take the same photograph every time and live with art forms with no differences.
