Well gotta do some adjustments on the sewing machine.
Tomorrow's another open drop-off day at Sewcial Studies in beautiful downtown Milwaukie.
Come by any time from noon until 2pm to leave your sewing machine with us for the spa day it's earned!
While you're there, scope out the well curated fabrics available in the shop. Suzanne just received some gorgeous new bolts of linens and Liberty cotton.
We look forward to seeing you!
This just in!
[listening to earpiece]
Apparently we are NOT supposed to answer your vintage #SewingMachine questions and instead are supposed to upsell you to our services or even to buy a machine.
[tosses earpiece in the bin, with predjudice]
Screw that. Have a question about your machine? Email or call us. We'll answer as best we can while still allowing us to service the machines in the queue.
We're all in this together, #sewing friendos.
Lay your peepers on this lovely, vintage New Home! Its controls are straightforward enough for beginners, and its performance is high enough for pros. Check it out!
Did you know that lowering the presser foot on your #SewingMachine engages the upper tension, and raising it disengages tension, so you should always raise the presser foot before threading your machine?
The past two days we've been working on a machine that's been "serviced" by another shop twice in two years, most recently in February.
Look at this mess! So much ancient oil/grease! No surprise the owner came to us reporting sewing problems.
This sort of thing really crumbles our cookies.
How dare anyone let a machine out of the shop and then charge a customer, claiming to have taken care of it??
Grrrrrr.
A fellow ham saw this in Santa Barbara (I think) this weekend. Like cargo bikes? Check. Like anitques? Check. Like sewing machines? Check.
Tomorrow is the "every" of "every other Saturday", which means you can find us at Sewcial Studies from noon until 2pm
Does your #SewingMachine need some help? Maybe a spa day? Come drop it off tomorrow, no appointment needed!
