Today received a letter asking schools not to refer #neurodivergent children to the diagnosis pathway unless “strategies” have been tried extensively. As a headteacher, #SENDCO and mother of an #Autistic young person I was horrified. Diagnosis already takes far too long and this just delays it further. 7/10 young people who are referred end up with a diagnosis. I understand the challenges but this is rationing of care. Shame on you Derbyshire.

Supported a parent to make an #EHCP application prior to child joining us in #EYFS . #HNTUF in place for first term and it looked like they weren’t going to issue. However we heard yesterday that they have agreed to issue. #Persistence and #sheerbloodyminededness paid off. #edutooter #SENDCo
