So-called ‘lucky’ people tend to have more family, friends, mentors, teachers, etc. that may subconsciously 'expect' more of them and encourage curiosity / achievement.

‘Unlucky’ people may have fewer people giving them encouragement.

These persons perceived as ‘lucky' also somehow seem more enthused towards curiousity and achievement.

Then there are people who purely make ‘luck’ for themselves regardless of their environment with their own expectations.

Some assumptions seem true only because they are self-fulfilling prophecies. They are true when you let your belief in them determine your actions. Examples:

- I can't do this.
- There's not enough.

The first is individual, the second, societal.

For these, the only way to test is to suspend belief and act as if they are false. We may need to give it a bit of time, as these beliefs will have momentum that needs to play out before the possibilities expand.
