Scherzer’s contract includes ten separate $1MM bonuses based on innings pitched, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. He’ll unlock the first of those bonuses for pitching 65 innings and then reach another $1MM bonus for every tenth inning, up through 155 frames overall.
