So exciting to be at the #saveourwildisles reception in Westminster this evening. Fantastic to be in the company of citizens from the People's Assembly as well as business and community leaders, politicians and charity folk talking about how we can save nature in the UK.

Scallop dredging rips up seabeds & destroys habitats - yet it's allowed in >95% of Scotland's seas. We need an #InshoreLimit on scallop dredging & other damaging fishing in coastal seas. Sign the @ourseas_scot

Petition to Bring Back Scotland's Inshore Limit

Scotland's coastal seabed was off-limits to bottom-trawling until 1984. Ever since the limit was removed, the fish in our seas declined as seabed habitats were destroyed. Protecting our seabed will help bring them back.

"Nature is essential to all our lives. It provides the food we eat, the air we breathe, and a home for the precious wildlife on our doorsteps. Devastatingly, 1 in 7 of the UK’s wildlife species is at risk of extinction. By taking part in the Wild Weekender, you’ll be helping to save them."

Our Wild Weekender | Save Our Wild Isles

UK nature is beautiful and precious – but it’s in crisis. That’s why from 28 April – 1 May we’re bringing people together for our Wild Weekender to sow, grow, and create thriving habitats for the nature on our doorstep.

Bees | Save Our Wild Isles

Bees are vital to food security and part of the backbone of our wild isles, but their numbers are in decline and protecting them is essential

So very proud of my wonderful friend Kat at WWF who has worked extremely hard with citizens and partners at the RSPB and National Trust to create the #PeoplesPlanForNature, released today 🌻

The People's Plan For Nature is a vision for the future of #nature, and the actions we must all take to protect and renew it - created for the people, by the people of the #UK.
