The International Generic Sample Number (IGSN ID) is a globally unique and persistent identifier that can be assigned to any material sample resulting from research in any domain. Through a partnership between DataCite and the IGSN Organization (e.V.), DataCite DOI services for registering IGSN IDs are available to all DataCite Members and Consortium Organizations. But…how does an organization actually work with its researchers to create a sample management workflow that incorporates IGSN ID registration? In response to community requests for practical examples of IGSN ID usage, we are pleased to invite you to join us for a webinar that showcases two real-world IGSN ID implementation use cases. Specifically, we will present: - A brief introduction to IGSN IDs. - An institutional IGSN ID integration created by GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences for its researchers. - The Sample Management Module developed by RSpace (DataCite Registered Service Provider) that includes IGSN ID registration.
