Hugo van de Pol recaps the Industry Track at RustWeek 2026: Are we mainstream yet? https://tweedegolf.nl/en/blog/238/are-we-mainstream-yet
The PR I co-built as part of #rustweek2026 got merged!
https://github.com/rust-lang/rust-clippy/pull/17031
It was to extend an existing lint to cover more cases
Thanks to all who made the RustWeek Hackathon such a massive success for Abacus; 18 PRs came in that day; 15 for Abacus and 3 for the rust-eml-nl crate!
Curious about our work on Dutch election software for the Electoral Council (@kiesraad), or maybe even looking to contribute? Check out the Abacus repo here: https://github.com/kiesraad/abacus
We had an excellent time at RustWeek and enjoyed meeting everyone there at our stand. We've written a short write-up on our experiences and demos.

Last week Ariel OS was present at RustWeek 2026 with a community booth. You could find us opposite to the main track room, trying to lure visitors to the booth with our live climate measurement demo on the screen. Plenty of visitors came to our booth to ask about Ariel OS and the demos we had prepared.
I spent most of this year so far figuring out possible designs to solve those problems.
RustWeek + All Hands were phenomenally useful! I worked w/ rustdoc, types, compiler, cargo, and other folks to poke holes in the designs and then patch them.
Thank you @rustnl for making it happen!
Sad that RustWeek is over, and glad I got to spend the week with so many wonderful people.
Next time you are delighted by how a Rust feature works, say thanks to all these folks who spent the week hashing out every possible edge case!
Can't wait for next year's RustWeek!

@jer @VincentTunru As for the driver, at #RustWeek2026, one of the sponsors is oxid[os]. Their swag included a bike-shaped bike-repair tool. With a Philips-head screwdriver as the back of the seat.

I'm in Utrecht for #RustWeek2026 and that means I brought my trusty Via Rail roller carryon that I've brought to so many countries. Unfortunately, Utrecht is close enough to Berlin that the same thing happened as the last time I went to Berlin: a screw from the handle popped right the heck out, rendering the rolly handle awkward-to-useless.
