Tested the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 1200 — a wire-free robot mower using 360° 3D LiDAR + AI camera navigation. Edge cutting gets within 5 cm of walls, setup takes 15 minutes, and there's basic Home Assistant support via a community HACS integration. Looks like I caught the robo-mower wave about 4 years too early. The technology has matured quite a bit since I bought my #husqvarna #automower in 2022. The latest models have LIDAR and virtual boundaries driven by GPS. The absolute worst part of the whole experience is installing and maintaining the stupid boundary wire. If you're thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these, avoid the models with a wire at all costs!

Tested the Mammotion LUBA Mini 2 AWD for a few weeks and was genuinely impressed. Wire-free setup, a dedicated edge disc that actually cuts to the fence line, AWD for slopes, and real Home Assistant integration.
