One of the most idiotic forced #ai #slop integrations I’ve seen. The whole point of a #Robokiller search is, with apologies to #Hedberg, “I give you a phone number and you give me what you know about it. End of transaction! We don’t need to bring lies or hallucinations into this!“

What is sending me to #ChatGPT supposed to accomplish? The phone number I’m searching is either in your database or it isn’t. I went to your website to ask _you_! Not to be told to fuck off and ask the magic 8 ball.

Just got an email from #Robokiller flatly informing me that the price is going up from $4/mo. to $6/mo. From $48 to $72 per year.

A full 50% price hike with no explanation. No announcement of new features, not even a blog post attempting to justify it.

I mean, without Robokiller I'd have thrown my phone in the sea long ago, but come on.

Does anyone else use #Robokiller or something like it?

Robokiller seems to work great filtering spam for the most part. Unfortunately, I occasionally end up with contacts sent through the filter. Also, “deactivating” it doesn’t seem to deactivate it entirely causing unknown callers to be sent through the filter.

I’d LOVE to continue using it if I could trust it. Anyone else have troubles? Anyone else NOT have troubles? Anyone have suggestions for other services or apps to try instead?

I am using the “Silence Unknown Callers” option, AND have #Robokiller turned on, AND I’m using T-Mobile’s Scam Shield app to block each number individually as they come in. No reduction in volume as of yet, it’s almost always a new number each time.

You can tell an election cycle is coming up, because I'm getting bombarded with Republican junk texts meant for the former owners of my phone number. #RoboKiller helps with its keyword filtering, but there's no way to auto-delete the SMSpam. That means I'll sometimes catch a glimpse of it on my iPad or MacBook Air.

There needs to be a way to auto-drop this crap into the bit-blitter. About 25% of what I get is a scam, and the rest *doesn't* come from the Republican Party. #politics

I don't know how I missed it, but #Robokiller finally added SMS text filters. I'm absolutely over the moon! This will be a real sanity-saver during next year's electoral cycle. I've been un-deleting #SMS spam meant for the people who formerly had my phone number, looking for distinctive phrases, and adding them to my block list.

I'm also adding variations on the previous owners' names, because I'm so over their BS. They dumped all their family members, school calls, AA sponsors, etc. onto me. 🤬

Shaka, when the walls fell.

(#RoboKiller had a hard time trying to transcribe a junk call that was in Chinese.)
