What an intriguing and impressive (generous!) arrangement of flowers is this #Yuccafilamentosa.

They flower right on cue, given I saw another in #chadstone just now, that I’ll swing past one time to snap.

This one however is growing in #ripponlea #Australia and made a special trip to photograph given I saw it the other day but couldn’t stop.

It is beeeeautiful!

Btw, it is native to the southeastern United States.

Not sure if this is a #honeylocust or even a #brazillianferntree but there are quite a few around #melbourne #Australia throughout the suburbs.

This one was growing in #Ripponlea.

The two toned leaf colour is spectacular and has been displaying like this for around 6 weeks now.

The new growth presents as a light greeny/yellow - almost fluorescent when the sun is shining.

The lighter leaves turn the darker green slowly, as we’re seeing on most now. So this one must have been a late bloomer.

The #goldendewdrop is a flowering shrub native from Mexico to South America and the Caribbean.

Note: they’re not ‘golden’ 🤔

It is widely grown as an ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical gardens world-wide.

The petals are visually pleasing. I love the shadings where the white and purple bleed into each other on the petal tip and the inner stoma.

So intricate and oh so beautiful!

Travelling through #ripponlea #Australia this morning and what a treat to behold!

This is a #Persiansilktree, also known as a #mimosa tree.

I have never come by one ever before. And it is gorgeous!

It was poking above a residential fence near a waterway and the flowers are just delightful! The main structure seems sturdy enough and the ‘petals’ were as fine as the finest hair. I’d suggest even lighter than the cat hair, to the touch.

And aromatic… oh my goodness yes! Floral and pungent. I didn’t have to stick my nose too far from these flowers to take it in.

And check out the intricate network of leaves!

I read up a little on these beauties and apparently these are native to southwestern Asia and eastern Asia.

I’d suggest this is a mature tree and it was tethered via a chain to the brick structure, to help support this considerably sized limb in place.
