#BougainvilleaGlabra, or #paperflower are STILL flowering away throughout many suburbs here in #melbourne #Australia.

I’ve seen this one blooming for months now. It’s located on a busy road and gets it’s fair share of appreciative observers, I guarantee it!

The flowers on #bougainvillea are about 0.5 cm in diameter (the pink petal-like structures are not petals, but they’re known as ‘bracts’.

Honestly, #bougainvillea is the gift that keeps on giving!

It’s still flowering throughout Melbs and it seems it has plenty of bloom-time remaining.

I’ve seen pinks, purples and reds of late.

This one I wanted to show some close ups of, to illustrate the beauty that is… I present the one and only, Bougainvillea….

#Alstroemerialigtu is a species of flowering plant in the family Alstroemeriaceae, native to Peru, northwest Argentina and central Chile.

It’s either that or a #peruvianlili (which could be the same thing?) - my ID app is conflicted. Therefore… so am I!!

Anyways. Found this a little while ago in #bentleigheast #Australia and it’s absolutely top-notch gorgeous!!

#Aeoniumarboreum is gorgeous when looked after in a garden and controlled.

Otherwise, it can become an invasive weed in places outside its natural distribution, for example as a garden escape throughout temperate southern Australia.

Most can look a little unkempt / scraggly but this one in #clayton #australia is superb!

For such a small tree, this #redflowergum (pictured 5 mins ago) in #oakleighsouth #Australia has some impressive bloom.

It’s endemic to the SW of Western Australia. Though is one of the most commonly planted ornamental eucalypts in warmer regions throughout Oz!

It goes by other unofficial names by looks. If so, it’s native to both China and Japan.
