@BlinkUp this is just the natural appearance of a #ringoscillator

it's just a ring of inverters with an odd number of stages, say 2*n+1 and "about" half of the stages are dark, half of the stages are lit.
all except one stage are stable all the time. that one gets "chased", switched to the other value, then the next stage has the "wrong" value and gets switched.

depending on how you wire it, either n will be lit, or n+1.

here the beauty lies in the slow turning on and off - in my eyes.
