Remember the old days of the web when organizations' "Contact" page actually had an easy way to contact them? Like an email address?

I drafted up a proposal for a standard set of tags on the Fediverse. @willghatch mentioned some weeks back that he thought there should be such a thing and I thought the idea was quite cool and ran with it. (To be clear, the result is all my craziness, not his)

To be honest, I find the current use of tags to be fairly useless. I think if tags were aimed at usability and filtering, it could improve people's experiences on social media.

Slow and steady progress on #tyros #hobbyos . This is not a real milestone because I clearly have a bug, but it's been about 3 days (and more than 5 hours of work I think) of trying to get the timer IRQ handler working.

So I'm showing off! Avec bug! I won't have time to fix it until next weekend anyway probably.

Kiddo just had her first major punchline. She was going through a book from a super-popular Korean TV series/merch franchise with her grandfather. He was asking "who's this?", "who's this?" and she's answering "크롱", "뽀로로", and then suddenly answered "grandpa doesn't know!" and the whole room broke out laughing.

She's been a lifelong attention whore (and her traditional Korean fortune thingy 돌잔치 predicted she would be a celebrity/chasing after fame). She'll do anything for applause or a "good job!" thrown her way. Getting the whole room to genuinely break out into laughter was like cocaine for her, I'm pretty sure.

Of course, predictably, she drove that line into the ground, trying to use it about 10 times in a row. Poor girl doesn't realize the fickle and fragile nature of comedy yet.

Anyway I look forward to seeing the progress in her comedy career. #request_reaction #topic_event

You can tell a lot about a person's general state by how often they lose their phone. I'm currently at about twice a day. Thankfully all my final exams are done. Now just a giant pile of marking and getting final marks in.

(Side-node: After a back-and-forth with @willghatch , I decided to draw up a set of standard tags, which I'm taking for a test drive now. If I like them, I may post about them)
