This is one of my favorite spots along the Liesing in Vienna.

I don't know about this section, but most of the Lising was confined in concrete walls not too many years ago, but almost every section in Vienna has been renaturalized by now.

The results:
* fewer floods
* better water quality (Platon doesn't stink after bathing)
* the human psyche benefits from the beauty of nature
* more biodiversity
* great education opportunity (you probably can't see it in the pictures, but just a little bit upstream there is a group of kindergardeners probably learning something about the environment)
* cooler microclimate
* and many, many more

(4/n) If this transition still ought to be orderly and democratic those corporates won't just disappear suddenly. What immediate steps are legally possible?

- sueing the shit out of those individuals that ran those corporates and privately enriched themselves.
- Seize their assets for climate refugees and the greater good
- buying up "stranded assets" from corporates so they go off grid now, aren't re-used again anywhere else and recycle the raw material's
- tax the rich
- phase out polluting vehicles with subsidies for low income folks
- Turning corporates to non-profits (cooperatives, foundations, etc.), revenues going into financing green new deals, remediation, their own dismantling.
- establish public owned renewable energy producers and prolongue feed in tarrifs
- prohibit the conversion of agricultural land
- shut down plastic production, allow only recycled plastic materials for transition, subsidize development of alternative organic materials

In recent years the pace of global efforts to curb climate change has been increasing. One of the initiatives in this direction is the Freshwater Challenge which is the largest challenge of its kind in the world and in history. Its goal is to ensure the restoration of 300,000. km of degraded rivers and 350 million hectares of destroyed wetlands.
