Spending the #RedHat #RechargeDay at Blatná castle
Today is the quarterly #RedHat #RechargeDay. Where Red Hat gives us a day to do what we want or need. So I am listening to hours of Techno DJ mixes while I clean my place and configure my Cute Homelab. I might go out later to drop off a bunch of good stuff at the second hand shop and a bunch of not so good stuff at the local recycling center.

At Red Hat  we get a quarterly Recharge Day (Q1-Q3) – an extra day off introduced during the pandemic to help all associates unwind and recover.

Today's Recharge Day! I'm cleaning my DSLR sensors and lenses, then heading out to the Pfälzer Wald for some nature photography. 📷

Really grateful for this time to disconnect and pursue what I love.

(Every quarter we Red Hatters get a day to do whatever we feel like. Fully paid. You can sleep in, go on a hike, visit friends and family, build stuff — you decide. Today is #RechargeDay for Q1/25)

Friday sysadmin stuff:

- finished the installation of RHEL9 on my homelab
- added the forgejo-runner to both machines, so they can now build stuff straight from my source repositories
- ran a few bigger build jobs to see how the machines handle stuff (TL;DR no problem, fast build)
- updated and rebooted all my servers, not just the ones in my cute homelab
- must now plan for the final placement of the 10” rack

I think it was a good #RechargeDay #LifeAtRedHat

Packing for a highly emotional and physical week end. Thanks @redhat for having an extra #rechargeday to deal with
Thanks #redhat for another amazing #rechargeDay 🎉 have a sunny #friday #runnersofmastodon ☀️
One Friday per quarter, Red Hat gives us all a #RechargeDay. A fully paid day to stay home, go out, whatever. A day for ourselves, to contemplate in my case. So when you are surprised by me sharing some deep thoughts today, that's #LifeAtRedHat :)
When it's cloudy and you still want to recharge
