The Coomera Connector is a mistake -

IMO it's really bad planning, quite expensive for what it is, and it's being built in lieu of better PT. Fast, convenient, reliable and comfortable PT is the best alternative to expensive and environmentally destructive mega-motorways.
The Qld government should improve rail and build a faster or fast rail* between GC and Brisbane (*not to be confused with high-speed rail). Perth has some good examples with lines that run adjacent to motorways making use of an already straight alignment (the existing GC/Beenleigh line is very old and windy).

Stop building, widening and duplicating motorways, and start building high capacity public transport infrastructure instead.
#BrisbaneSubway is an old proposal from 2011 but was shelved. In light of the Darra to Toowong car tunnel idea it should be revived.
Other improvements like BRT for the Centenary suburbs, the Springfield to Ipswich line via Ripley and Yamanto, and frequency, speed and reliability improvements to existing lines and routes.
Inspired by the Rozelle interchange, Brisbane and QLD are going all in on mega motorways and tunnels. The latest batshit crazy idea is a tunnel from Darra to Toowong (and also the Gympie Road bypass tunnel).
The Centenary suburbs are already notoriously underserved by PT. Why not build a busway instead of plunging more money into widening roads and motorways?
There are a lot of improvements that can be made to the Ipswich/Springfield lines like higher frequency and better connections.
Brisbane Subway was an awesome concept too, a real metro connecting Toowong, West End, the CBD, Bulimba, Hamilton and the airport.

> In our opinion, nobody in the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads would think spending $7 billion to add just four trains worth of peak hour capacity to the train network was good value, but apparently it makes sense when a road project does it?
