I think it can be safely said that there is a direct inverse relationship between the quality-of-life experience in any game, and the number of mechanics in the game that require lengthy timed key-mash sequences. That shit just sucks all the fun out of the game like a vampire.

This is one of the BEST things about the Elder Scrolls. THERE IS NO FUCKING KEY-MASHING. If I'm playing a first-person-perspective story game, I should be free to focus on the story, not on memorizing precisely-timed 30-second key sequences where one tiny error of timing means instant death.

Assassin's Creed, I'm looking at you here too.
