All the talks at PyCascades from yesterday were great. I missed a couple talks because I was doing final rehearsal for my own talk, but I'm planning to watch them later.
Sadly I can't join in person today, but I know the talk lineup is just as great as yesterday's.
I'm awake, and at the airport for the 5 AM flight to Washington D.C.
I'm headed to GW OSCON, which I just learned, was also the site for the first ever PyCon back in 2003! 🤩

It is the ten year anniversary of my PyConUS 2016 keynote. I had hoped to attend this year to visit old friends and make new ones.
With no corporate sponsor, the cost in money, time, and effort is too much. My cancer treatment will not end until July. While my daily chemo drugs are self administered, they are considered hazardous. The rules tell me that they must be under lock and key while traveling.
No matter how I fiddle numbers, the logistics just don't work out.
Maybe 2027 will be my year.
📢 CFP season is here @djangocon US, @pycon & more!

Can you believe it's already February 20th?
It's the last day to get your talk proposal to the Maintainer Summit at PyCon US 2026!
I also had a talk in the CFP, and one made it through the community vote, so I’ll be joining the speaker lineup. 🎤
I wonder who else around here is coming as a speaker this year. 🕵️
