Right, let me talk about slide templates.
Most universities have an official slide template everyone is told to use.
More often than not these are rubbish.
Focusing on splashing the university logo around so much there is no space for actual content.
Iβm going to call it outβ¦ just stop putting lots of text one your slides. You know its bad, I know its bad, everyone knows its badβ¦ so can we just not?

The phases of preparing talks/trainings/workshops seem to never change:
1. Either "How will I fill the time" or "This will never fit into the time slot"
2. Make a first concept, be relieved
3. Read up to make it more deeper/rounder
4. Prepare slides/exercises
5. Dry run, realise concept does not work and it takes too long
6. Rework concept
7. Realise it takes even longer
8. Remove stuff
9. Repeat 5 to 9 until it fits
