Die Ausweispflicht für Prepaid-SIM-Karten sollte den "massenhaften Missbrauch" eindämmen. Doch wie sieht das im eSIM-Zeitalter aus? Ist der "massenhafte Missbrauch" durch Straftäter zurückgekommen? In der Schweiz wollte man dem Drogenhandel schaden, in Deutschland war es eine Anti-Terror-Maßnahme. 20 beziehungsweise 7 Jahre später ist die Beschaffung eines eSIM-Profils jedenfalls keine Hürde mehr. Ich habe es geschafft – ganz ohne Ausweis.

Vor gut sieben Jahren wurde in Deutschland die Ausweispflicht für Prepaid-SIM-Karten eingeführt. Damit sollte der "massenhafte Missbrauch" durch Straftäter verhindert werden. Doch seither hat sich die Technik weiterentwickelt. Gibt es mit der eSIM mehr Missbrauch? Das deutsche Bundesinnenministerium bleibt jedoch Antworten zur Wirksamkeit schuldig.
