The post Namek or whatever rules (and there is perhaps a similar thing with #powerlevels) are that #Shenron can grant three wishes, at least as long as they are fairly straightforward.
Previously one had to wait a whole year (although in the anime it sometimes felt more like nine months or so!) for the Dragon Balls to regenerate but under the new rules if only one wish is granted one can use the other two remaining wishes after only four months.
This seems to happen at least twice
