@HennaVirkkunen one thing that that Google has monopolized across countries and continents is RCS messaging. RCS is defined by GSMA specifications, but the implementation used by most MNOs is from Google and it only works with Android and, more recently, IOS. But none of the FOSS projects or open mobile devices is able to use RCS messaging so far because of the way it is implemented.
