Let me get this straight: 37 miles is a doozy. 5km run in 35°c heat is doable(at pre-stroke pace too!).

Walking to the hospital and dreading going there? That emotional baggage and mental work fills my head to the point that it exhausts me.

Bloody brain. Needs rewiring.

I’ve also been in contact with work and, to my COMPLETE lack of surprise, my director in the APS has been very understanding in her SMS reply. Seriously, the team I work with is awesome and that director gets VERY cranky at sick people who try to log on to work remotely when they shouldn’t. She and the rest of the team were just fabulous in the #stroke and #postStroke (technically a #TransientIschaemicAttack, but whatever) period.
After a pleasant enough morning involving exercise and #postStroke education the afternoon and evening today were fairly #Shitful. However #Gyoza and #Ramen and #gelato will go some distance to fixing that.
#MemoToSelf the next time I see the doctor, ask about getting a letter to clear me to give blood or at least plasma. Last time I asked the Red Cross they said that because I was #PostStroke I wasn’t allowed to. But I’m fine now, really. Probably healthier than I was (20kg lighter for a start).
#PostStroke education this week was on “exercise is good for you, yo”, on which note “duh”. 😂🤣😂🤣
About to do the 2nd session/week of a 6 session/week #PostStroke education/exercise program at the University of Canberra. Last week the education session covered the, ah, biomechanics I guess of strokes and why certain medications are prescribed to manage recurrence risks.
Follow up kidney scan today. Drs appointment to discuss various test results next week. Not too worried about this scan, but it does involve holding a full bladder for longer than is comfortable. #PostStroke
First hard(ish) gym session of #2024 (well there were sprints on the rower and time on the prowler, never fun) and it’s Wednesday night so we all know what that means: it’s #RAMENTIME (and also #gyoza), #PostStroke diet (which I’ve been reasonably good about this week) be damned.
Ok, so looks like I’m about to be on one less medication but may need other #PostStroke specialist neurologist follow ups (I may have some historical issues with epilepsy that need investigating).
More rain on my way back from lunch. Which I needed to go out for because the work cafe hasn’t reopened yet and I’m not back on the #PostStroke diet yet (next week). #Canberra
